Welcome to Trinity Church Mount Barker!
This term at church we are reading through the Old Testament book of Exodus together. Exodus is part of the first five books of the Bible, known as the ‘Torah’, a Hebrew word meaning ‘law’ or ‘instruction’. The Torah in the Old Testament is similar to the Gospels of the New Testament: it is the foundational story and instruction that the rest is built on. Exodus tells the account of Abraham’s descendants as they leave Egypt, and begin their journey to the promised land.
It’s a gripping account of God’s incredible power and mercy, his glory and his grace, that all finds its fulfilment in Jesus Christ. My prayer is that as we hear this word, we’ll catch a bigger vision of Jesus – all he is and all he has done – and be transformed more and more into his image.
Warmly in Christ, Duncan.
